Driving to work yesterday, listening to the radio, I came across intriguing piece of interview with a man called Steven Strong. Details are sketchy here folks, but the upshot is that for decades the concensus of opinion amongst historian-types is that the human species originated from Mother Africa.
Turns out that's not right. In fact our origins were Australian aboriginals. This book details the research and the back-ups ( you know, juicy stories about human skulls etc.) that support this groundbreaking theory.
We are so interesting in this country! Yeah! We are also really freaking dumb since this book has no distribution here except for the two local bookshops that Steven himself has approached: Mary Ryan's in Byron Bay and an unnamed shop in Lismore (ABC radio can't advertise, he was cut off quickly!)
Steven said if the book/theory had to be attended to first in the US and Europe, then so be it. Of course, the Americans have embraced it ( why are we so stupid in promoting our own ideas?) and bless them for that. Hey when you're in New York next, buy a copy here.
Or Amazon. Fascinating stuff.

Who would doubt the origin of human culture = Australia?!? Not I!!
I love thinking about the first peoples. While I understand how the different skin tones could have evolved, I'm curious about the Asian eyes. Have never run across an explanation.

also gives some info...... so thanks for your curiousity.... and to Alison for getting us thinking!!!! I , myself, have recently discovered that I can directly follow my lineage back to the first primordial blob... (it had red hair!!!!! and possibly came from another planet)

Thanks you two and that's a really interesting article, "paler shade of black" al.
I think I came from Planet Claire, all the trees are red, no-one ever dies there, no-one has a head.
I'm a mutant version of course, since
someone's going to kill me one day and I will die, simply because I've annoyed them so much.

I think I know that Planet Claire, but possibly you are mislead into believing you are a mutant.... on close examination, you will discover... your head is just an extension of the earthly ego - craving for recognition. It also may just be an earth response, from excess flatulation, caused by trying to avoid one's son in the swimming pool as he deftly swims after you. And so, you will not die, you are... in fact.....probably only annoying to those who want to be annoyed out of their self inflicted "head in the sand" syndromes.. and are definitely: immortal, eternal, universal and infinite (and headless). A truly remarkable specimen of the Planet Claire, come to earth to show us the wonders of the KITCHEN SINK.......for which we patiently wait
